Principal's Message

Dear Canyon View Families,

On behalf of the Canyon View staff, I want to welcome each and every one of our new and returning families to the 2014-2015 school year!   The first seven days of school have been an absolute success, and over the next few weeks we should be settled into our new routines and schedules.  As we begin the school year, we want to relay to our families how important relationship building is at Canyon View, and our staff is committed to building meaningful and lasting relationships with each and every one of our children and parents.
This year, CFSD schools will be taking the first steps towards implementing the new District Strategic Plan- Envision21: Deep Learning.  Over the course of the school year, the Canyon View staff will be researching the learning proficiencies that support Deep Learning.  In a collaborative setting, we’ll be strengthening our own understanding of what this looks like in the classroom, and how we can create learning experiences and environments that foster this type of thinking.  Below are some of the critical attributes that we’ll be focusing on this year as we dive deep into Deep Learning.

•Citizenship
•Growth mindsets
•Communication
•Relationship Building
•Collaboration
•Goal Setting
•Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
•Perseverance
•Creativity & Innovation
•Positive attitudes and beliefs about oneself
•Systems Thinking
•Transfer of knowledge
